Our History

Our History

L'Esperluète is the story of Etienne, a globetrotting chef and lover of good products who goes to meet Patrice, an ingenious craftsman cutler. Together they created the first real folding kitchen knife.

Named the Esperluète, it is now manufactured in Thiers, in Puy-De-Dôme, the birthplace of the art of French cutlery. This knife is the perfect combination of cooking and travel.

Every day, we create knives designed as mediating objects to explore the world, discover its greatest riches, push back our own boundaries, meet others and cook freely .
